Frequently asked questions

Questions people often ask

If your question is not covered here, contact us. We would rather explain something clearly than leave you guessing.

Can I ask for an assessment without committing to care?

Yes. The assessment helps both sides understand the needs and decide whether Edeen Care is the right fit.

Who can make a referral?

The person needing support, a family member, advocate, social worker, health professional or commissioner can start a conversation. We will confirm consent and information-sharing arrangements as part of the process.

How quickly can support start?

That depends on assessment, staffing, funding and the complexity of the package. We will not promise a start date until those points are clear.

How is care funded?

Care may be paid for privately, through a local authority personal budget or, in some cases, NHS funding. The relevant authority decides eligibility.

Will I have the same care workers?

We aim for sensible continuity and good matching. Rotas, leave and changing needs mean we cannot promise one person for every visit.

Do you carry out staff checks?

Safer recruitment is part of deciding whether someone can work in care. The checks needed depend on the role and applicable requirements. Contact us if you need details for a particular package.

Can support change later?

Yes. Care plans should be reviewed when needs, risks or goals change. Significant changes may require a new assessment and funding agreement.

What if I have a concern?

Tell us as soon as possible so it can be recorded and addressed. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. Safeguarding concerns can also be reported directly to the relevant local authority.
