Keeping people safe
Safeguarding
Everyone has the right to be safe and treated with dignity. A safeguarding concern should be listened to, recorded and acted on without delay.
If someone is in immediate danger
Call 999. If a crime may have happened but there is no immediate danger, contact the police on 101. Urgent health advice is available through NHS 111.
Raising a concern
You can tell the person's local council adult safeguarding team, or children's services where the concern involves someone under 18. You can also contact Edeen Care through the enquiry form. Do not wait for proof before reporting a genuine concern.
- Say what happened and when
- Describe any immediate risks
- Keep relevant messages, photographs or records safely
- Do not confront someone if doing so could increase risk
What we will do
We will take the concern seriously, protect confidentiality as far as possible, preserve relevant information and cooperate with the appropriate safeguarding authority. We cannot promise secrecy where someone may be at risk.
